Continuing our strong relationship with the Chartered Institute of Housing, this recent project saw CIH approach the Eidos team to develop a set of bespoke eLearning resources aligned to their professionalism standards. Final deliverables include a mixture of content types, including video, to create an engaging learner experience. Learning is made actionable through the exploration and application of models, recognisable scenarios, reflection and personal application activities.

The Eidos team once again delivered a fully managed eLearning service to provide the best possible eLearning resources, focusing on user engagement and knowledge development. We worked in partnership with CIH to ensure the final resources fully reflected their needs and those of their clients, resulting in an important resource to support their current efforts in professionalising the housing sector.

Sarah Dunkerley, Director of Professional Development at CIH, had this to say about the project and the Eidos team:

CIH has a set of professional standards which are focused on the behaviours and values required of staff working in the housing sector.  This is supported by a self-assessment tool to enable CIH members to identify their strengths and areas for development against these standards. Members receive a personal profile which is linked to development activities and resources.

We were looking to provide an introduction to each of our professional standards as part of this process and identified e-learning as an efficient and effective way to do this.   We were looking for something that was engaging, accessible, relatively brief and with a mechanism for the learner to be able to record and download further reading, research, areas for discussion with colleagues and more formal qualification and training requirements.

We had built a fantastic relationship with Eidos when they developed key aspects of our self-assessment tool, and we knew they had the expertise in both housing and the development of e-learning to meet our needs.  We also knew the staff were approachable and friendly and could deliver to our timescales.

We spent a significant amount of time scoping out the requirements of each module in the early stages, to identify an appropriate learner journey and range of activities. The Eidos team were responsive to this and very willing to work with us to get the required outcome.

Throughout every stage of the project, the delivery team was very approachable; they listened to and acted on our feedback, whilst also providing constructive challenge and expertise in the technology being used.  This enabled us to create the best outcome for our needs.

Eidos provided effective and responsive support throughout the project.  Jo responded promptly, often within the hour, to a couple of initial technical issues once our hosting site was built and to ensure the correct updates were in place. The Eidos team was also very good at providing guidance and support in how to make the learning effective for our customers via an online delivery.

The set of professional standards e-learning modules we now have will enable the organisations we work with to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of their staff and enable them to demonstrate their professionalism both within their organisation and externally to customers and key stakeholders. This aligns perfectly with the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities’ focus on professionalisation of the housing sector. It was a pleasure to work with Eidos on this project”
