Apprentice mentoring for employers

The brief

To develop an Employer’s Guide to Mentoring: An induction activity and ongoing reference guide for apprentice employers to help them understand how best to support their apprentice through mentoring.

The solution

We developed two modules: The first provided best practice and practical guidance on mentoring apprentices in the workplace. The second provided guidance on specific employer responsibilities and the support that they can access from the college team.

The design of these modules was based around the needs for the user to revisit content as and when needed, and to support practical application of the content. The modules contained a number of activities that required the user to consider how the guidance and best practice should be applied to their own workplace, as well as downloadable templates and best practice guides.
