A continuing professional development (CPD) log allows you to record the learning and development activities that you undertake and identify the impact that these have on your current practice and future growth.

This template allows you to:

  • Quickly and easily record distinct learning and development activities and the dates that these activities took place.
  • Reflect upon the activities so that you can understand what you have learned from them and how they have, or will, benefit you.
  • Identify actions related to the activity that you have undertaken. For example, applying what you have learned within a specific situation or undertaking further learning and development activities.

Who is it useful for?

This template can be used by individuals to capture evidence of formal and informal learning activities. It is very useful for recording difficult to evidence learning activities such as learning through trial and error, or self directed learning in the flow of work (e.g. watching instructional videos.)

Employers can share this template to encourage individuals to take ownership of their own learning, and to capture evidence of informal learning activities.
